This fundraising event is a unique celebration that makes a significant impact on cancer research disparities through the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund. We will celebrate the incredible legacy of Stuart Scott with co-hosts, Hill Harper and Stan Verrett along with featured guests Taelor and Sydni Scott.

Together, we can fight for Victory Over Cancer!

Dedicated to reducing disparities in cancer, the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund supports underrepresented researchers, as well as research dedicated to understanding why some cancers are more likely to occur, more aggressive or harder to treat in minority populations.

Stuart Scott Memorial Fund

The V Foundation and ESPN established the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund in memory of beloved ESPN sportscaster Stuart Scott after he passed away in 2015. Stuart was a champion for cancer research and was especially driven to improve outcomes for African Americans and other minorities disproportionately affected by the disease.

The Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund has two types of grants:

Translational Grants fund research of the biological basis of cancer disparities experienced by patients of minority populations. The research topics include causes, aggressiveness, treatments, or relapses of cancer.

The Fund also supports V Scholar scientists from ethnic groups underrepresented in science. This gives minority researchers important, early-career funding to establish their labs and begin their careers as cancer researchers.
